Many kinds of loss affect our lives, including:  death, divorce, job loss, moving, pet loss, and changes in health and finances. In the midst of grief, we may look for an understanding of what’s normal and natural, a respect for our individuality, and resources for coping and healing. If you’re seeking information and insight to cope with and recover from loss in your life, I’d like to help. Here are two ways.

Personal Grief Coaching

As your coach, I will fully listen. I’ll assist you to identify the strengths you have and the resources you need, and I’ll accompany you as you explore options, make choices, and take steps to recreate your world.

If personal coaching is new to you, you may wish to read my page About Coaching.

The Grief Recovery Method® Program

The Grief Recovery Method® has been refined over forty years and the approach has been declared evidence-based and effective following research conducted by Kent State University.

This program is outlined in The Grief Recovery Handbook: The Action Program for Moving Beyond Death, Divorce, and Other Losses including Health, Career and Faith, written by John W. James and Russell Friedman, founders of The Grief Recovery Institute.

As a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® licensed by The Institute, I coach you toward recovery from loss through one-to-one meetings and homework based on the book and accompanying format. Together, we question assumptions about grief, identify losses affecting your life, and take steps to heal what was left emotionally unfinished by loss. You’ll gain skills for responding to loss that will serve you a lifetime.

I offer this program in person in Burlington, Ontario. If you prefer a virtual format, I can assist you to locate a Specialist who provides this.

We experienced many kinds of loss as a result of 3 years of pandemic.
